A few days ago my E05 went out. Changed the battery, cleaned it.. It's just not working and there no way im using my Maglite Solitaire

I want to replace it with a bigger and more powerful LD12 but i'm worried about it happening again. Is my concern valid or is the LD12 good to go?

Contact the people at www.lighthound.com. They are flashlight gurus, if anyone can help you, they can. They are in Pearland, TX and I go to their storefront every time I am in the area visiting grandbabies. I bought three Fenix lights from them over the years and have never had a problem.

Meh, I feel like every product is going to have its own problems at some point. Whether it be a Glock pistol, Surefire flashlight, or whatever else. They all have their problems.

Personally, I have had two Surefire lights crap out on me out of the... two SF lights I have owned. :P

I have 2 Fenix lights and they have been 100% perfect for me since day 1. I think they're great.

My TK40 has been wholly unreliable. I've tried every fix & tweak that CPF and the rest of the internet have to offer, and still
it turns on only when and if it feels like it.

I love my PD32 that I carry every day, I have had no problems with it. I have had it died on me one time, but I just tightened the battery cap back up and it worked fine, it had somehow managed to unscrew in my pocket. They make great lights. I have submerged mine, it has taken a beating in my pocket and has survived everything that I have been able to throw at it.

3 Fenix lights for me. E01, E11, and E21, and although they are the cheaper models they have been rock solid.

I think Fenix has an excellent reputation for a reason.

Overall, unrealiable. I have officially given up on fenix after 5 different models. I depend on my lights and have no tolerance for being let down. Surefire has never let me down, ever.

I own a dozen or more lights...many are Fenix lights.

They are the only ones that I haven't had fail on me. And yes, I have had a Surefire fail on me and have to be returned to the factory.....a 4sevens also.

Just for giggles...what type of battery were you using in that light? I use lithiums in all my lights and never put anything else in them. I have heard of alkalines destroying flashlights and figure the extra cost of the lithium cells is worth it for that reason alone.

I've only ever seen problems with one of the cr123 twisty models my dad has (I disremember the number,) Anyway, a little tweak on the negative battey contact fixed it. The other eight Fenix lights in my family work great.

After many years of battery type things I find that the most common problem is oxidation of the battery ends and connectors .So first thing I do is to clean up the contacts with a very fine abrasive paper and stretch the spring a bit .Get decent batteries ,the good ones are more consistant.Clean off any green corrosion.

I've bought a couple Fenix lights over the years. The one I have that has been the best is the TK10 (discontinued). I had a smaller light that would flicker and was very inconsistent all the time after about 8 months or so. Really disappointing, seeing as the lights are supposed to be quality construction. I'm using a small Maratac light now, and have no problems so far. They are hit and miss to say the least.

Fenix will sleep with your wife and kill your children, please do not trust them.

I have 4 Fenix flashlights. 2 of the EO1's failed within a year. Contacted Fenix, they said since I didn't buy directly from them they couldn't help.

Also, my T10 works fine on the lower setting, but doesn't seem to want to switch to the higher level. I don't really care since the lower level light is sufficient for my use, but it is disappointing.

Needless to say, no more Fenix for me.

Love and hate...

Have a TK40 that has been solid....Fenix is now warrantying out a newly purchased PD20 R5 that died a week after it was purchased....so I'm at roughly 50%.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Very few things can go wrong with any flashlight.
1. Battery wears out
2. Bulb dies/breaks.

If it isn't the battery, I suspect the LED died or somehow broke.

I don't know this model, but is the bulb replaceable?

I had a PD32 that worked great up until its tail switch went out. Would turn on, but no momentary. I contacted my Authorized Dealer I purchased the light from to replace the switch. It took 4 MONTHS! and a semi-nasty email to get the switches replaced. I was going to buy another Fenix light, but if this is the way their ADs treat customers, never again.

I'm a medic. When I need my light, I NEED my light. Never again.

Should I trust Fenix?

I have 5 Fenix lights and they're all doing fine. My LD10 is an EDC and gets heavy use, the others are in packs and vehicles so they don't get used as much. I've had them all for 2 years or longer
P2D
P3D
LD10 x 2
LD20

I have to add however that for serious applications I prefer my Surefires.

I had the exact same experience with my Fenix PD10, and then with the Fenix PD30 that I replaced it with. The PD30 barely lasted 2 months before it started flickering, and then quit altogether. In both cases I contacted Fenix first to try and figure out what was wrong, and then to try and get warranty care.

Anyway, it might just be an outlier, but having two bad experiences in a row really soured me on Fenix. I've since switched to the Four Sevens Quark (don't remember the model #) as my camping light, and the Four Sevens Preon P0 or Maratac AAA as my EDC.
