Should Kershaw Avalanch Rattle When Open?

I've a Kershaw Avalanch that has something
rattling loose in the pivot area. It only
rattles when the knife is open, being perfectly tight when closed. The blade isn't loose or anything, and i've not had any mind altering drugs or anything. Should I care about this?

Please help me not to send this back to the factory for the THIRD time! &*$^*)*@

ps. My Kershaw Blackout doesn't rattle, but my Minitask does slightly when open.

All of my speedlock knives rattle except for my Mini Task. As far as I can see, this is not an indication of a problem. It just happens once they are broken in. Even by Boa, which has a super tight lockup, rattles when it is closed.

Both my Avalanch and Ricochet have the same rattle and they both function perfectly. It's apparently just something that is a normal characteristic of the mechanism. Relax and enjoy.

The rattle is the torsion bar moving around inside when the knife is open and there is no tension on it. First time this happened I called Kershaw and they explained what was causing it and there is no adverse effects on the action of the knife.

Thanks for the info.

Bad guy comes into the house. Hears rattling
sound and asks "Is that a Kershaw speedsafe
I hear?" The rattling sound gets more intense and you say "You better believe it MF". ...
