Should my Gerber A-F Covert do this?

I was pawing through all my knives tonight and I noticed something about my Gerber A-F Covert. When in the open position the blade can be rocked back & forth. With very little pressure I can move the tip about 1/2" either way. In looking closely at the mechanisms, it seems the liner lock isn't fully engaging -- like it's just barely catching the back of the blade. Though I don't carry this knife on any regular basis, I'm still uncomfortable with any blade movement in a folder. I don't have many folders, but all my Spydercos, Schrades and even a couple of Bokers (including a full-size Boker A-F) seem to lock into place just fine. Even though I bought this 2 years ago & no longer have the receipt, will Boker fix this for me at no charge? I've never used the knife and, if this is not right, it has to be a manufacturer's error.

Apologies in advance if I didn't get mechanism names right - folders aren't my specialty.

I am sure that you meant will Gerber fix this. Go to their web site at http://www.gerberblades.com/ and ask them yourself 'cause I dont know.

I just "pawed" thru my closet and dug up my Gerber AF covert. There is no movement at all like you describe on yours. It should not do that.

Thanks for the quick replies. Sorry about the Gerber/Boker mix-up - I seem to do that a lot and I don't know why. Ever since they both came out w/ A-F models...

I tried to contact Gerber via e-mail prior to posting here but I couldn't find an e-mail address for them, though I searched their web site high and low. Even their web site was sort of hard to find, it didn't show up on my search engine. I ended having to go through a Gerber collector's personal site. BTW, their web site is http://www.gerberblades.com/

Are they purposely making it hard for people to reach/contact them over the web?

Tell them about the wobbling. I'm sure they'll fix it no charge if it is covered by the warranty.
