Should "regular" people carry knives?

I must be one of the growing minority, I carry at least one knife on my person and I actually use and maintain them.

Then there's that growing population who views knives as an important tool but because of its great dangers of injury and the dangerous threat to society and perhaps the entire planet that they should be regulated.

Their thoughts may go like this in the near future. " There is something that needs to be cut, so I will contact the 'Federal Department of Dangerous tools and sharpened Devices' to obtain a permit. Then once they have the cutting permit they will have the priviledge to contact a licensed cutting professional to get an estimate for the job.

After the dangerous cutting work is done, in this case cutting a piece of rope, they can then contact the government, and have someone come over for an inspection, and if it passes, get a certification (once all the fees are paid of course).

Did you know thees so called "non-knife carriers" don't carry knives?:P
I feel if more people carried some kind of knife than they'd understand them more.Illogical fear stems from ignorance.take away the ignorance, take away the fear.

I have always carried a knife since 5 years of age.

I didn't start carrying everyday until I was much older that you (10), but since then I've had a blade in my pocket almost every day. Everyone should carry a knife/MT all the time.

Regarding a compass... Yes, you should have one of those, too, maybe not all the time, but every time you go somewhere you might need it. If you don't know how to use it, it ain't the compass that's dead weight.
