I like this idea, everyone should make a knife!I think a prerequisite to complaining about the cost of a knife should be the complainer has to try making one himself first.
Especially a folder.....since most of these complaints regard folding knives.
I made throwing knives and big choppers out of old leaf springs as a kid. They were pretty awful but they looked like knives and more or less functioned like knives. I probably could have bought a knife for the cost of all the cutoff wheels and grinding disks and bandaids I went through.I like this idea, everyone should make a knife!
After entering the arena...... and spending 10-20 hours on a knife....... I think most knives should cost More... I'm surprised they don't.
Or, if inflation keeps going the way it has been lately, $300 will buy you a Mora.I do believe there will come a time when those that think nothing of dropping 300-500 dollars on a knife will come to an end..
There was a time when I had a pocket full of extra cash on me all the time..
Then I retired!! It will happen to all sooner or later..

Complaining will not effect pricing one iota if people are still buying. Sometimes raising prices creates more desire for the product. See Grey Goose vodka, for example.Complaining by enough people will influence companies' pricing; Not buying by enough people will bring the prices down.
Should we create a subforum for people who complain other people who complain?
I think all the complainers should have to pass a spine whack test.AND pass a spine whack test.
I fought a Pit the other day that passed the spine whack test. (For real.)I think all the complainers should have to pass a spine whack test.
That is a big IF. If I am new to a knife and I see many people are complaining about its price (i.e., not worth the price), that will certainly affect my purchase decision.Complaining will not effect pricing one iota if people are still buying.
