Hello everyone. I have a question. I have carried a blade as backup for many years, what I'm searching for is someone who makes a shoulder rig, very similar to a shoulder holster for a gun. I have looked for quite some time, any ideas, suggestions or leads would be VERY appreciated.

I have a couple of clients who have studied and practice the knife fighting skills and each of them prefer a carry option other than the shoulder holster type carry. Both prefer sash carry or inside the waistband carry weak side cross draw
(they are both right hand) They prefer sash carry at about 10 o'clock left side for right hand cross draw or IWB further back at about 7 or 8 o'clock for reverse grip draw.

This type carry stays out of the way either in the truck or in the saddle…..is very secure, is easily concealable, and costs a hell of a lot less than a shoulder rig, while being more versatile. It can be even more versatile with a flat belt loop inset on the back side.

Now you know you can't teach an old dog new tricks, lol. I have too many years of muscle memory built in. Besides, I happen to LOVE cross draw. If I didn't have another item occupying that position I would have initially used that as my standard (blade) carry option. But I very much appreciate your suggestions. I actually prefer in most situations a reverse grip style, but I believe it may be hard if not dangerous to attempt a new drawing style. I will however ponder the strong side carry option for a reverse grip draw. Thank you sir for your time.

Well, I did up a lightweight rig for my kershaws out of some kydex and a cheap shoulder holster. They ride pretty well, and lays pretty flat. There are a few things I want to add to make it a bit more carry friendly here and there like silicone straps to hang the blades with a bit more flex.

They look sweet. They look like they'd carry sleekly little if any show. How's the draw, smooth as silk ?? Thanks for the look see.
