Do EXACTLY as they say for recovery. Healing a rotator cuff is no time to be macho, that will just cause permanent disability. My mother in law is recovering from a particularly nasty repair (auto accident). It's been almost 2 months. Maybe soon she'll be able to try to move her arm on her own....
My sister is a PT and has dealt with a LOT of rotator cuff cases. Her advice has been to just take it slow and do EXACTLY as the doc says. Even one stupid moment of "it'll be fine" can really screw you up.
