Shout out to Ellie!

Hehe, true, but I'm in Europe so it complicates it a bit. I'll flip a coin and see...

I'm kind of also holding out for that folder...

I had forgotten that, bud. Sorry. I'm waiting on a blade from overseas right now, so I understand your pain there.

I still want to grab a 2.7,4.5,&8 but I think I can only get one more with out having to pay for a divorce as well. So I think I have decided on the 4.5.

The 2.7 is still calling me though and I have only got a little time left.

Haha, I know what you mean. The good news is though (and I keep forgetting this) after the preorders and starters all this amazing stuff will be in regular stock. I have to keep reminding myself that just because I don't get it now, doesn't mean I'll never be able to get it.

Yeah, but I think it's going to sell out pretty fast, no? I wonder what amount of "extra stock" Guy produces compared to the number of starter/preorders? Double? 4x? 10x?

Poor man is never going to stop grinding those blades... ;)

Well, for something like the 5's there will be a set amount of left over stock and that will be it. Forever.

But for starter models, I thought the plan was to have a time limit for preorders then when all those are worked through, Guy will actually have stock so you can go to the site and just order stuff. I think.

And yeah, poor Guy. An extreme case of "if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself"

Ellie, how is the newest, and I believe third, member of the team coming along in the shop? Do you get the sense that he, along with your new equipment and business strategies, will allow you guys to keep GSOs in stock? If so, approx. how far out is that goal?

Christian is definitely an asset. He worked with us in Gettysburg so we knew it was worth waiting for him to finish school, rather than hiring an unknown. We can set him lose on important tasks with complete confidence.

The new equipment will put a lot more control in our hands, decreasing Factory 2nd numbers. It has also been great for morale. Guy had been asking for this equipment in 2013, but the partner had different ideas about where money should be spent. If we had gotten the equipment then we would have been able to work through a lot of the problems that plagued us in 2014. Now that it is here in front of us, it is like a huge cloud has finally dispersed.

We are finally at a place where we feel like we are actually moving forward, with the goal being to have knives in stock at all time. It is hard to say when we will be to that point. Even with the GSO-5.1 production run being only 1/4 preorders, emails would suggest that we are going to sell out of those quickly. I think the GSO-4.7 will last for awhile though.

I tried resisting until the bitter end, but I caved and ordered a 2.7... I'm probably last in line for it too, if not Texas got one too? ;)

As much as I want one the Necker has been calling my name since day one of seeing survive so its a no brainer for me. And I have to have that 4.5. If I get any more my wife may run me off into the woods

Running to the woods doesn't sound too bad if you have the 4.5 bushcraft knife... ;)

Precisely the reason to carry a good bushcraft knife

:D

Dudes, why are you talking about knives and knife stuff in a knife discussion forum? Can we get back to how cool Ellie is, please?? :p

I'll start: So I'm holding my newly acquired 5 in my hand and (without having attacked any wood with it yet) I can just tell this is the ideal cutting tool for Silver Needle. I feel compelled to call the workshop and leave a message. To my surprise Ellie answers and is just the coolest and sweetest kid around. I'm sure she was swamped with emails and shipping stickers and everything else, but she just let me ramble and get everything out that I needed to. Very cool.:thumbup:

I just got my spare green ones, so I've got a black pair I don't need.

Agreed, she deserves more then just a thread amongst the hooligans. She and Guy go the extra mile to make things right no matter what. Thank y'all.

But I do hear she's getting a well-earned diamond-encrusted helicopter, and she's not riding shotgun either! Now if we can only talk her in to doing deliveries!!!!!! :D
