Shovels—do we need ‘em?

where did you grab this? I'd like more information please and thanks.
I bought that shovel close to 30 years ago from a place called OKC Supply. I googled them and they're no longer in business. The style of shovel is called "Caprock" and you can find forged closed back versions with solid core fiberglass handles from multiple sources. I only saw short D handles with wooden shafts. You could get a long handled version and put a D handle on it. Good luck and do show what you get if you can find something suitable.
 
Do we need shovels?

The answer to that question is a resounding YES! We need all manner of shovels, regardless of what names they go by. Folding shovels, full-sized shovels, spades, rounded nose, flat nose, pointed nose, they're all needed.
