Did you keep you first Busse? Which one was it? What made you take the plunge? Tell your story.

My first one was a SHII. I kept seeing write ups in ASG and other magazines that said they were the toughest knives the writer's had ever seen. Plus, just the look of the Steel Heart made you believe you could beat the hell out of it.

Mine came with a nylon/kydex sheath made by Eagle Industries.

I have field dressed and butchered two deer with this one including beating the spine with a rock to split the ribs and pelvis, and the coating only slightly chipped. The edge is still close to shaving sharp.

Show and tell for your first Busse!

My first was a tiger Warden from Guyon, but I only had it in my hands briefly before it was gone for sheathing. I haven't seen it since but it should be coming home soon along with a big brother, FBM LE. I consider both to be my first Busse, since they'll arrive together with matching sheaths and start getting used at the same time.

The third one from the right was my first ever from the factory. Got it in Early 99 along with another SHBM no longer here and two SHSHII a SHBA and a SHMS.

Half of what you see is now gone so don't bother emailing me about them

my first unofficially was a slotted bolt SHSHII, not sure if it was A2 or INFI, but I got it in late 97 so it must have been A2

cobalt, im not jealous at all that you have owned such beauties. not at all. really.

:)

Snagged this from BCS back when Skunk couldn't give them away

Still my favorite, and it's usually with me, but only gets to see belt time when I'm out in the woods or in a state without a 3.5" legal limit.

I always wanted a knife that looks good but also is a very good user. I discoverd Busse and I fell in love with the SFNO.

Here she is, it is my first and it will be forever mine...:D:D:

Seen this thread before...

My first was this little Assault Shaker off the bay:

don't have any pics, but mine was a CGFBM with mags. I was a little overwhelmed and put out by the weight and huge handles for my small hands, so I ended up selling it and getting one with snake handles

My first was a Bird's Beak A2 Steel Heart II in 1994, followed by a SHBA A2 that same year.

This was my first, a NO-E, DC with a butt grind. As soon as it was in my hands, I was conflicted. I knew it was all the knife I would ever need, yet at the same time I knew I wanted more. And more is what I got, but that's another story......

The first I ordered was a SJTAC... next thing ya know, a Mole Jack... couldn't stand the wait and saw the GW and Stinky shipped real fast, so here's my first... to arrive any way.

I was only looking for a good camp knife... ran across some of Porkerson's post on INFI and it was all over.

Nope. Mine's gone, gone. Don't even remember the person to whom I sold it.

JohnTheTexican has my second, and the dirty dog won't sell it back to me. :D :D

However, in his case, I'm kind of glad he has it. He's got a right nice set of tan/snakeskins.

Same goes for some other very desirable knives I've sold.

Because of the people they went to and the collections into which they went, I have NO REGRETS.
