My wife ordered a Custom Shop 501 burl wood matching scales and S30V for me for our anniversary, without my knowledge so it was a good surprise, she had already given me the 119, but the 501 just came in today.View attachment 1183605

Wow! There are some truly gorgeous Buck 501 knives in this thread. I only have a couple and while I like them very much they are not nearly as nice as some of the knives others have posted.
The first 501 is an older one with the micarta handle scales but someone before I bought it had Buck re-blade the knife. It makes a really nice EDC with the micarta.

The second is a 501 I ordered from their custom shop. S30v blade steel with water buffalo handle scales. This also makes a great office edc.

The 501 is a perfect size true pocket knife for me anyways. Just a great traditional edc for the pockets.

Here is my wife's 501, it didn't come with a sheath, but just ordered one, along with a couple of kitchen knives from Buck. It's not real pretty but it is a classy knife.

I really like this knife. I've had my eye on them for a while, but finally getting to handle one made me realize I had to finally get one. This knife is the perfect size; about the same proportions as my favorite slipjoints but...better. This knife is a tank for its size.
Thick liners, stainless pins and a solid lockup. Now I know what my next purchase will be... Custom shop here I come
