Persians Folders or fixed if you got them please.

I am beginning some work on one of my most ambitious projects yet, so it would be a big help if anybody has a good collection of Persians style knives they can show off.

Yes it will be a "Persian Arrow" lockback

Thanks
Spencer

The photo is very sorry, but here is a fixed blade I made.

I made this knife to the customers specs, he had a drawing of it.
He loved it - I did not.
I just do not like to make a knife, that I know will probably never be used.:grumpy:
Made it so long ago, that I can't even remember what kind of steel I made it with?:rolleyes:
The handle material was different type of Ivories, blade mirror polished.

Thanks Mr Davidson, I can appreciate the work but not the design.....the flow seems bulky if that makes sense.

I was looking at some of Mr Tom Ferry's work, he did a great "Persian" folder which has some texture to the Ti to reflect the period type bronze work....its really beautiful

I have started the first drawings of my design when I get it where I want it I will post it up. I have some ivory that I have been saving for some time, it will finally get worked into the design. The Ivory will represent the Elephants that the massive Persian army employed?

The Persians where known for the vast number of "archers" they could launch enough Arrows to block out the sun.

I will be doing the artwork today for the scrimshawing and engraving.....I will need to find someone that can do the work any suggestions on engravers?

Thanks for the post.

I just did not like this knife either, customer had a full scale drawing.
Made it exactly to his specs, he put in case up on his mantel.....:)

Engravers????

There is a lot of great ones out there to choose from?
Using this forums here you can probably find a good one?

Good luck on the knife, post photos when done..... :)

And you can call me Todd.....:D

Here is a photo taken from the Knife Purveyor website. It is of a Tom Ferry Persian style knife with textured handle. Possibly the one you posted about.

Here's a Tom Ferry Persian piece, with some Japanese-style influence from last year.

Here's a William Henry from their Persian line of folders. Perhaps not a true custom but thought some may like to see it. Matt Conable is a heck of a designer IMO. The actor Peter Coyota a knife collector since he was 6, narrates a pretty good video "The Art of Knife Making" on the WH site.

These are by John Gonzalez (Dervish Knives). Middle one is definitely Persian. Top one is sorta that way.
