wow IG, I didn't know you made knives:p
That one's a beauty!

Thanks for starting this thread Spencer, and thanks for the pics everyone... The lines on persians have aways appealed to me, just beautiful IMO.

I was hoping Coop would stop by........Marshall Noble said something about the "Hill Peirce collection"

By all means keep on posting them.

Thanks
Spencer

Spence,

Later tonight when I am home, I can post some images for us.

But, please define what you are looking for; 'Persian', for me, defines an upswept blade. Mediterranean Bowies are related, but not necessarily with an upswept blade.

BTW, I did a Google search of "Persian Knife" ( and knives) and there are plenty of examples, too.

Coop I am primarily looking at Persian folders, I plan on using ivory that will be scrimshawed or carved.

I also have a Kopis folding design that I plan to build along side this one, this whole build will be based loosely on the "Battle of Thermopylae" theme.....its hard to explain.

Coop I have looked at pages and pages of all kinds of Persians from the greatest to the flea market trash;).

Not to mention your pictures show the kind of detail one needs period:thumbup:

Thanks
Spencer

There are some remarkable knives in this thread.

I have a number of Med Bowies by Hill Pearce. This particular one has the most 'Persian' flair...

(It's a study in smooth curves and with the pointiest tip.)

Going further, here is a parade of Hill's work:

Not all of them Persian, but the Med Bowie influence is apparent.

Folders?.... hmmmm. Joe Kious has the preeminent designs. Here's the ones in ivory to compare.

One of my VERY favorite makers: George Dailey. Here's a signature model expertly shown by Eric Eggly:

Keep them coming. :D

Coop that second Kious is fantastic one of the nicest persian folders I have seen

SAAR's I know I am going to get lynched for this but a cs Talwar is one of the most stricking factory folders I have seen and more importantly one of the best in the hand feel of any folder I have held. I would love to see a custom version

I don't know if this qualifies as Persian or not, more subhilt dagger.
Jot Khalsa I snagged off Buddy S about 3 years ago.
