Best Bowies of 2012

Coop

Raymond is the king of ginormous bowies!

DC, that is absolutely stunning!!!

I was thinking of your Moss-trous bowie when this thread got going, Doug! Good to get another peek :)
I hope Chris is doing well these days.

Jon Klein has an old one of mine that would fit into that category.

more of a machete I guess...to be honest I don't know what the hell this is. I know it's big.

Hey cowboy, here's a Don Hanson III piece that is something of a bowie / camp knife hybrid:

The size doesn't jump out at you from the solo pic - but here is Don holding the knife:

Kyle Royer has done a few beautiful big beasties - hopefully they will get posted here.

Howard Faucheaux Bowie
10.5" fighter with Osage handle, off now getting sheath at Kenny Rowes

The Beastie Boy of my collection, a whopping 13" blade. From Don Hanson, has beefy width but is balanced so it feels right. The leaf shape has me thinking Bowie then Chopper. Not sure where to land except big, bad, and cool with that artifact ivory handle. Created long before the Zombie Apocalypse craze, this Hunk O' Steel would be perfect for the job. Thanks Don!

For perspective, consider that this blade is 1/8th" longer than the Royer attached

Bowie or Fighter? Another one that I thought you'd enjoy seeing but am hoping it fits the request. Royer's's first M.S. knife with a long, lean 12 7/8" blade. Kyle and I talked a lot during the design phase of this one and he took extra time to ensure the uber attention to everything would befit his first undertaking as a Mastersmith. The sheath alone was several chats to come up with the final raised spine gator detail. Thank you, Kyle!

Can't close without a special thanks to Coop. He's the reason I can share these with great detail and depth!

This is not my knife--was commissioned I believe by pootsythesamurai (Phillip), but it always speaks to me...by Tad Lynch:

…and another out-size favorite (I believe now in the possession of Greg “gga357”), Jason Knight’s personal “Hogsbane” 14-incher:

Rob - I remember that Hanson beastie well - sweet knife!

Hi Roger,

Was this knife ever a part of your collection? Not sure who the original owner was, only how I got my mitts on it

It wasn't an easy transaction as the previous owner was a Hanson groupie and this was the last of his many DHIII's. I landed it and a primo Hanson folding dagger from his collection as he was funding an investment opportunity.

Here's a few of mine:

John Doyle:

Lin Rhea "El Patron"

Denis Mura Ziozeb on the forums.

Bud Richards:

Bud Richards "Sitting Bull"

Mike Quesenberry.

Marcin Bona:

Charlie Edmondson:

Mike Craddock:

That's it for now I will post some more later.
