No it wasn't mine - it originally belonged to a fellow who was very active on the custom forum many years ago - he had a penchant for the BIG blades.

Strange, I just started grinding on a big ol bowie. Think it's around 12" of damascus blade.

I'm not on the same planet skill wise to the guys who make these great knives, but I did do a big bowie for my brother for his birthday this spring.

Not quite 12", but 11 3/4" blade is quite close.

I did this 11" blade knife for my nephew for his wedding:

I'm a newbie, but I like the big knives!
 
I have been building a Musso style (a loose interpretation) have a few more hours to go but will get a couple pics tomorrow.
Blade is W2 and 15n20 San Mai 13
1/2 in wiqth a width of 2 5/8 in
Handle is Hickory
Fittings are 410 ss and Copper.

Great thread. Does anyone have any 12 or above pictured in hand? I am about to get a large bowie/fighter made and Im not sure if 12" is too big or not?

I just designed it. One of our forum regulars picked it up and I expect he will be posting up his own thread once he gets it in hand :)

Lon Humprey with the pig sticker, that he made for me.

I saw a Bowie, that Lon had made and asked him, if he would make me a knife for pig sticking.

This is my first time to do a total length of 17 inches of antlers Bowei , in the production of this year before graduating from University,please forgive me to design and make me is not good enough.
