I could not find a recent thread for neck knife pictures, so I decided to start one.

Most of my outdoor adventures do not involve dressing out game, building shelters, or splitting firewood. Just whittling an occasional tent stake, or cutting some nylon cord or slicing cheese or sausage.

I am an ultralight backpacker, and also a hobbyist knifemaker. I am always thinking up designs for minimalist fixed blades. Here are some I have made. Some I sold, and some I gave away as presents. They all have a cutting edge length between 2 and 2 1/2":

This one is a treasure to me. When I made it, I was even more of a newbie than I am now. It was profiled by Stacey Apelt and heat treated by Stan Buzek:

I have a CRKT Minimalist and SPEW, but I really only carry this Benchmade as a neck knife anymore.

Thank you, Strigamort. :)

The liners are jatoba wood. Not book matched or anything; just thin lumber. The green part is olive drab G10, sanded to 320 grit. The steel is 154CM

A ranch manager paid me $30 for that. Even though it is very small, he said he would use it as a skinner. Maybe I should make another one from that pattern.

got the TOPS-TIBO in the mail today, and wrapped the handle, seems to be a keeper. came hair shaving sharp straight out of the box. good sheath with good retention, but easy enough to pull out quickly.

Dang man... that is a hell of a deal.

The same pattern only with a slightly larger blade would be cool too, but I dig (that's probably obvious by now) that knife as is. :o

had some spare parts at work and an old gold chain. The knife screws out with small lanyard in 1 and a half turns.
