Show Me Your Patina!

I meant to ask you about this skyline before, is it a custom deal? I've never seen one like it!
Hey man 🍻. So it's one of their older US made Skylines in damascus, which Kershaw offered, and then I put Flytanium copper scales on it. I think Flytanium stopped selling the scales in the past year or so. I'm a sucker for satin'd/polished red metals, so I gave it a bit of a rub down with some wet n dry sandpaper so that the patina would end up coming in more vividly. And then it's just natural patina. Kershaw did kinda screw the pooch a little bit on these damascus Skylines though, as the detent hole on the blade is way larger than the detent ball by quite a few magnitudes. This gives it bad detent lash. I actually ended up fitting a piece of leather to the backspacer to cushion it because the blade was hitting it a little.

How are you copper scales guys keeping them from developing copper stank??? I bought the Leek with copper scales and I can't stand to carry it. If I touch it I can smell that sulfurous stank the rest of the day even if I wash my hands ten times. If I wipe it down with a towel it's good again for a while but it always comes back.

I don't notice any smell to them? 🤔
