Not a sentence you hear or read everyday...

So, for whatever reason I've decided to start coordinating sets of crap to EDC. Pen, lighter, knife, etc. my first set was the orange set. I have some orange bandanas, tiny little butane torches that fit in a coin pocket, a Jinhao rollerball knockoff of a Lamy Safari pen, and of course a couple of knives. I managed to acquire an LE orange Skyline with black blade and an orange Leek. Love the setup.

Next up is a leather and wood set. Pretty simple on most fronts, but I need to explore the wooden handled knife market. Like most of us, with the exception of my slipjoints, I've been swimming in a sea of g10, cf and titanium for a while now. So please show me some modern folders with wooden handles. So far I'm leaning toward these 3.

Boker Urban Trapper Cocobolo

I'm hesitant about the Boker as I've basically always received garbage from them, but they've had decent reviews. A Bocote Mnandi or Large Sebby are also high on the list.

Ooh, I like the blade shape on the Lone Wolf. Is it hollow or flat ground?

I had a Lobo a little while ago, but never quite fell in love with it. Traded it off on the forum.

Andy Billipp ironwood handle when new. Unfortunately with time the handle darkened and lost some of that contrast.

Rosewood burl and blackwood bolster by Dave Martell (knife is Yoshikane SLD 150mm petty)

Large plating/rice spoon from black Walnut (if I am not mistaken) - I absolutely love it!

Red and purple hard wood from Murray Carter (attached to awesome white#1 iron clad 167mm funayuki)

Those are all very nice, especially that Carter, but I'm afraid they'll look a bit silly in my pocket.

I know this one's not what you're looking for but they sure did wood right in the old days.

Most of my wood handled knives are either traditional pocketknives or hunting knives. But here are a few modern knives that I've accumulated:

Maserin has a few other models with wood options as well.

From Deejo knives, the largest model is available in a choice of woods. Don't recall which one mine is.

I don't have one of these (yet) but the latest release of the One Hand Knife from AG Russell has a cocobolo option.

Just got this beauty from Sean O'Hare. Awesome guy to order a knife from!

Here is my Large Sebenza and his & hers Mnandi's. The damascus is hers. :)

For the office, my Mnandi get's EDC'd the most. They have Box Elder scales.

Truth be told I really wanted a carbon fiber inlay on this Sebenza, but settled for this Ebony inlay instead. I am actually glad I did, as it is naturally black and has some real depth to it.

Wow! Wood is not usually my thing but that piece is beautiful. I just checked out his site too. Those are priced at a 1/3 of what I thought they'd be.

Very Nice!

I wouldn't worry too much about the quality of the Boker; my last couple of Bokers, including the CF Urban Trapper, have been flawless. The Urban Trapper itself is an awesome knife; it's insanely slender and light, a 3.5 inch blade that carries like a small slipjoint (with a clip.) It's a great flipper, too, and actually a pretty good slicer as well.

My Cocobolo Urban Trapper from Knifeworks should be here tomorrow, which is awesome considering I ordered it at noon on Friday. Will post pictures when I get it.

It's flat.
I need to carry it more. I bought it for the N680 alloy, which I wanted to try, but it's a very well constructed knife and surprisingly stable in the hand.
