Show my quickly-open buck 110

I've been a proponent of the Kwik-thumbs/Bars since I first tried one about a year ago. I've also been, fascinated by peoples DIY solutions as well.

Yes, DIY is a very interesting thing, we can enjoy the results of DIY, more importantly, is fun in the process can also enjoy over.

No add-ons are needed for one hand opening. Why not just hold the blade tip-up and flip the handle out?

Oregon, the picture you have has set screws, I cannot see any in the pictures that Yangqiang sent.

Yes, I did not use screws to fix, but the use of the A / B glue to hold the attachment on this knife, I hope I can be strong enough sign of trouble, I do not need to remove it.

I still have a lot of BUCK 110.:D

Thread jack!

Could someone email with where to find those neat blade attachments? I recently looked for the one arm bandit thumbstuds with no luck.

Thank you Ed for the kind words.

Only Nixon could have gone to China. I wish that he had returned with some of those, apparently screw-less, thumb bars.

Perhaps these thumb bars are as long as they are in order to have maximum compression-fit-grip plus thumb purchase surface area without interfering with deep cuts by hitting the target material as the blade slices through it. A shorter press-fit thumb bar could pop off more easily, perhaps. Just speculating on a hypothesis. Good observation DM and, as usual, you set me to thinking (yes, it does hurt) as usual you clever fellow you. The color of the brass, if it is indeed brass, looks correct. I have a collection of Shilin Cutters from China and their brass is reddish, slightly less golden than that in the USA, so it looks like brass to me.

I had turn on my email,I am also very happy to send some thumb bars to you, but for the time being, I also can not find a suitable way to send in mainland China.

As for you mentioned the color of the brass, brass copper added zinc be different zinc content, the color will be different, I was looking for a color looks close to the handle color brass.

Thank you!

I think that looks really good! It matches and compliments the brass bolsters on the handle. I've never really liked the look of the thumb studs I've seen available for the 110 in the past. I have always been able to flip open the blades on my 110s with one hand by using my thumb and index finger. It takes a little practice to do it right, but it's not hard once you figure it out. Something like what the OP posted though looks good enough that I wouldn't mind having them on my 110s.

You are a champion!

Brilliant video added to the start of this thread. You, grasshopper, have earned the coveted "A" grade based on the completion of your homework. Well done and a terrific contribution/effort to the content of this forum. May you live a thousand years.

This is my brass lefty thumbstud for the 110.

It holds by means of a little M3 Philips screw and leaves most of the blade free for cutting room.

Takes a little force to open but it works very well. :)

Great photographs of an interesting thumb opener. Is it made of brass? Thank you for sharing yangqiang.

Can you post utube of how the thumb opener is attached to the blade and/or you opening the knife with your one hand technique? Homework :)

Do you carry the 110 on your person every day and how do you carry it, sheath or pocket? Or do you keep it inside your home?

These gnarly thumb studs from Leroy were never used by me. I don't like to put my thumb in harm's way when actuating the blade.
