I am NOT trying to start a fight here, but putting a finger groove in a knife does NOT make it a subhilt, they are a lot more difficult to make than that! ;)

Tom, that brings up an interesting question to which I've been able to find very little definative information. What is the actual definition of a subhilt configuration and what are the boundries a handle must stay within to meet that definition. If you have any deep technical information I'd love it either in post or email. I've been doing a lot of reading to eduficate myself in the area and would greatly appreciate feedback from makers. Thanks
