I bet lots of you grow a beard for winter (or all the time maybe?).
Here's a thread to show off your facial hair.
Facial hair only folks, nothing below the belt please!
I'll go first, I started this November 1st, 2008.

Amazing! I almost started a beard thread a little earlier tonight. I'll be 36 in a few weeks and I've never really tried to 'grow a beard' until now. I have gone several days, maybe a week week and a half or so without shaving before. I've kept a goatee a while longer than that but trimmed short. I'm about 2 1/2 weeks in and this thing is starting to get really irritating. I can hardly keep from rubbing it/my face. Anyone else have a similar experience. Did you shave, get used to it, or what. It almost seems like shaving will feel funny now too. What to do? -DT
BTW, none of the poll responses seemed to apply to me. I will vote present.:D

Hey man, after about a month it completely stops itching all together.

There are some pretty awesome beards here, I hope you're proud :)

Here is mine as long as I would keep it before I started growing it out a few months ago. I'll have to get some new batteries for my camera soon and post an update, it's quite a bit larger now! (The knife is a koster bushcraft)

Thanks for the info. I just might hold out. Cool pic. Cool knife. Cute girl. -DT

Dang, I just mowed my beard after letting it grow for a year to do the Santa Claus bit. I do have a few shots of it before I cut it, though.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

I'm a goatee man, myself (and before it was "cool" - cuz without one I look like Henry Kissinger)

That is the kind of beard that I am striving for.

That's about a years growth.

Funny story behind that shot, my ex-girlfriend, that bugged me to shave my beard off until I finally did, then broke up with me 2 months later.

I started growing a beard back the next day. 8 months later, she starts texting me, hinting about getting back together.

I went outside and sat in a chair and took that shot and sent it to her cell phone saying I'd rather keep the beard..... :D

Some great beard pictures guys!
@dttomcat
It really does take about a month to stop itching. Mines at about 6 weeks and it doesn't bother me at all anymore. The hairs finally get long enough to not poke the shit out of you. You should try rubbing some lotion/baby oil into your beard (onto your skin) and that should help alot.

I don't have any pictures, but I've basically had a full beard or goatee since I was 19. I'm 42 now. I've had a goatee only for about the last 15 years.

My son wants me to grow it into a Van Dyke, but I don't know if I could.
