No... I didn't. But I was tempted.

One of these days when the lottery rolls in, I might spring for a Snow Peak titanium flask. Probably the 5 oz. medium.

Or maybe that 6.7 oz. round version.

I did, however, pick up a little 2.5 oz. titanium flask (see below) since this model hit the sale page.

It'll be big enough for a couple of nice snorts by the fire on a weekend trip, and the size is nice and packable.

Show off those pack flasks in whatever shape, size, or material...

I've been tempted by that round one from Snow Peak for YEARS, but could never make myself pull the trigger.

I did slip and picked up the Snow Peak 5oz titanium flask. I like it...I originally was looking for the larger round flask, but couldn't find one for a decent price anywhere. The 5oz is about perfect to dull the the aches and pains of a the backpack into the camp site:D

I must say, I also pack in the Nalgene 12oz Flask filled wine wine for my wife and I at times:D:thumbup:

For the longest, I've just used a heavy stainless version that, if memory serves, I picked up from Smoky Mountain Knife Works (see below). I do want something lighter as I've started paying more attention to ounces.

That little backcountry.com version will be okay for weekenders, but I won't have any booze to share. I will probably go for a Snow Peak eventually though.

Does anyone know where to get a nice quality stainless steel hip flask that ISNT made in China? The asking price for the Snow Peak ones is terribly high but I can't really find anything other than the ubiquitous GSI one found at every sporting goods store. I was going to pick of one of the Nalgene ones to replace the one I lost, but I really don't like the loosely attached polycarbonate "insulation" sleeve.

I don't even drink that much; there was just something about that round snowpeak that I could not resist. It's kinda hard to fill

That 2,5 is neat

Filson is US made, but it isn't cheap.

These are my 2 recent ones. I have had a few more than this at one time, but once the leak, they are gone. Can't have my Jack runnin' out or anywhere but in my liver.

The one on the left is a Jack Daniels run of rubber covered smoked glass. The "shot glass" is brass I think. It has a rubber screw top under the shot glass as well. 6oz

The one on the right is a MADE IN THE USA stainless 6oz flask. I picked it up in a yard sale about 8yrs ago. Still had the original box. I was always told these were "warmer" flasks, you keep'em in your back pocket to warm up your whiskey. Go figure.

Anyway, drank enough Jack Daniels through these guys to sink a houseboat, they've been all over the US, and Mexico. From sea level to 5,860 ft above it. I loves my Jack and I loves my flasks. I will cry when they die, these 2 have been the toughest of all. Good call Guyon, nice thread.

I like the looks of those Snow Peak flasks, but I really don't feel the need to have a flask that pricey to carry Wild Turkey.

As it is I have a couple of the cheap Coleman flasks, a 6 oz and a 9 oz. When I will be sharing I take the 9 oz. For myself, the 6 oz is really terrible overkill except for very long trips.

My flasks have never been filled with anything other than Wild Turkey. It's my old standby, good stuff for a good price. I've never felt the need for anything fancier around the campfire.

Those Stanleys look like they could survive a nuclear bomb and keep the whiskey drinkable.

Great thread, Guyon.
Lots of cool flasks are gathering.

Shame showing my flask.... But it works fine nonetheless.

I like it.

sometimes I'll carry grain alcohol for my pop can stove. I put that in the nalgene flask-that's a pretty good one. it has a heavy duty sleeve that can be ditched. a shot glass cap and holds enough for a party

I'd love to have one of the Snow Peak flasks but I haven't been able to justify the cost.

As you can see this one is a bit big but that just means it holds plenty. :D Both it and the two shot glasses are stainless steel.

if you single malters would only suffer a couple bottles of Ole Peat's bonnie blended you'd have cash for that Ti

Jerry Can gets my vote for most awsome displayed so far!!!

I've got a 5 oz stainless flask I picked up in TJ(it was the day of the federal elections, and the only way I could get some booze.) made by some Mexican silversmith. The only problem is I haven't seen it since the last Bills game I attended(J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets!). I may have lost it, or maybe the old lady tossed it.

Either way, I picked up a Shark Skinzz flask at the grocery store. Picture a plastic bag(BPA-free, of course:rolleyes:) with a screw cap. This should go well with your ultralight backpacking gear, I think.

eta: I'm sorry, Guyon, Beej is the one getting into the ultralight stuff. :o
