It started by accident, but these days it's by design: My core collection -- the part of it that I curate, and from which I choose my daily carry -- fits comfortably into one drawer in my tool chest.

I have about the same number of purpose-specific knives (various SAKs, Moras for hiking, truck knives, etc.) stashed around the place.

Yes. In fact if you look carefully you can see 2 of them. One with orange handle and one with black handle.

My core collection feels pretty stable right now, so I figured I'd get them all out for a photo. Of course, every time I photograph my core collection it immediately changes, so I guess I'm due for a spring cleaning or something.

I have other knives, but when I'm deciding what goes in my pocket each morning this is the pool from which I choose. They all fit in one long drawer in the machinist's tool chest I use for knife/watch/etc. stuff, and over time that's become my informal rule for how large my core collection can be.

Looking at this picture, apparently "no clip holes on the show side" is a hill I'm willing to die on.
