Nice pics and video/gif!!
As hard and dense as Lignum Vitae!!!

Is it palo santo (Plectrocarpa sarmientoi , AKA Argentine Lignum) or pau santo (Zollernia spp, AKA Brazilian blackheart)?

Argentine lignum is nearly as hard and dense as true lignum vitae, but the grain frequently has feathering that makes it very interesting visually. Did any of these show that feathering in the grain? I have a plank of Argentine lignum and it is indeed very dense. Here are a couple closeups of my plank that show this interesting grain:

Do you mean MARMITE?

In British slang, "Marmite" refers to something that people either strongly like or strongly dislike, with no middle ground. It's used to describe anything that polarizes opinion, like a "Marmite politician" or "Marmite reaction". This usage is based on the popular yeast extract spread, Marmite, which has a very distinctive taste.

The phrase "You either love it or hate it" is strongly associated with Marmite and has become a common way to describe things that have a similar polarizing effect. If something is described as "a bit of a Marmite," it means it's something that people tend to have strong opinions about, either positive or negative.
