2016 was a great year for big knives!! The #98 Texas Camp Knife was born that year, along with the #98 Cattle and #98 Whittler!! I first proposed it with a Diamond Shield, but quickly changed my mind because it just looked too small!! The large banner shield just finished the knives perfectly!!
Here are the numbers for that run:
981316 cattle ANTIQUE YELLOW JIG BONE 16 PCS.
CRANBERRY JIG BONE 17 PCS.
BURNT ORANGE JIG BONE 17 PCS. = 50 total

My camp knife is just about my favorite knife! If only we would see some more...

I love that Big Black Jack!! Thanks for posting it Jack Black!! ;)
Thanks Charlie :) Thanks for commissioning it my friend, and for gifting me one :) I still have your PM, I think, asking me if I would be offended if you called the pattern that! 🤣 It's a beautiful knife Charlie, and I do enjoy carrying it, though I've tried not to mess up the blade etch :D :)

Nice collection!! I see some custom work in there; tell us more!! ;)
Thank you Charlie! It’s one I picked up from a member, attention J jsdistin

From what I’ve gathered, jsdistin can correct me if I’m wrong. It started out as a 772215HJ Washington Punch with cocobolo.
It now sports a crown lifter blade and a 2018 barlow 77 clip with the match striker long pull and burl ironwood scales.

It was stated from the member. ā€œThe spines of the blade and caplifter were shaved down a bit, the back of the spine was peened down slightly for fit, and the back springs were also trimmed so that the one for the cap lifter sat flush open and closed. The pulls are both snappy with the blade being a 6ish and the caplifter being a 7ish.ā€

The main clip blade can be pinched open I find quite enjoyable but love the OEM clips too. It also had a satin finish on back springs, pins and scales but I decided to hand polish it. I loved it before but even more all shiny like the original WJ models. It’s a unique knife and glad to have it my collection.
