Show us your current weekly rotation

Thanks Jamie !!! I debated the merits of both, came to suspect the same conclusions pretty much. and chose a Tidioute Ben Hogan LB in Ebony that's in route. Should be here Tuesday :)

Good choice, you are going to love it! The #64LB's are nearly as comfortable and every bit as solid.

Tim,

I love the Texas Jack. That wharncliffe is a stunner, as well.

Tal

Thank you Tal, 5 of those knives were either traded, gifted or bought from friends hence they're sentimental and in my rotation.

I think you'll love the 77, as Arizonaranchman said, about a 10% increase but it really does give a better grip in that with that extra space if you've large hands like I do it feels less 'cramped' the 15 is just right for me in size but the 77 allows more free space.

I'm sure some of you carry one knife every day. Others may choose whatever knife jumps out at you each morning. But who has a set weekly rotation? Give us a glimpse. I'll start ....
...
Monday: Buck 055

Tuesday: Case Swayback Jack CV

Wednesday: GEC Tidioute Calf Roper Slim

Thursday: Beer Scout or 2011 Forum knife (every Thursday I play Old Time music and need a bottle opener handy).

Friday: Old Timer 93OT Wrangler

Saturday and Sunday: Chris Reeve Small Sebenza Insingo (not pictured because it's not a traditional)

"Dress Knife": Case Peanut CV
Tal, those are all EXCELLENT knives in your weekly rotation!!:thumbup:
I have, and love, a Case SBJ and Peanut, and a 93OT, and I've definitely coveted, I mean admired ;), the Buck 55, 2011 Forum knife, and Calf Roper that others' have posted over my time at BF.

Thanks for starting this thread! All summer, I've been thinking I should sit down and work out a rotation so that all of my knives get some pocket time. Thanks to your thread, I actually worked out a rotation, on paper, this morning, and stored the document with my knives.:D:D

My approach has elements mentioned by others in this thread:
...No rotation on this one - a sheepfoot #77 Medium Barlow. This one has been 24/7 for the past 7 months now. I have a couple others that rotate in the #2 spot, but this Barlow never budges.

The orange Vic Farmer is basically a part of my pants. It resides in a horizontal belt sheath and has proven indespensible.
...

I am a little different as I actually have sets of knives of similar patterns I rotate weekly. I also will generally carry multiple knives each day. I also have some other patterns that get carried for different reasons (mainly because I like them!). ...

Thank you Tal, 5 of those knives were either traded, gifted or bought from friends hence they're sentimental and in my rotation.
...
Like Jamie, I carry several knives at a time, and stick with the same set for a week at a time. In subsequent weeks I have a new set of knives, but each week's set is sort of similar in the types of knives that are included. Like arizonaranchman, there are a few knives that I carry literally every day; they never leave my pocket. And, like Tim, one influential factor in putting together weekly sets of knives is sentimentality - many of my knives are gifts from BF friends.

I'm not going to include photos of each weekly set, as Jamie did, because I'm too lazy and it would take too long. But here's a brief description of my "rotation plan".
1. Every day I carry a Vic Electrician (from greg c), a chestnut bone CV Sodbuster Jr (from a BigBiscuit GAW), a Case SS Delrin Peanut (from a Cory Hess GAW), and a Vic Minichamp.

2. Each week I carry a set of 8 additional knives:
a SAK,
a Stockman,
a Canoe,
an "international" knife (mostly from Spain),
a non-SAK knife with a bail (e.g., TL-29, scout knife, etc),
a small, watch pocket knife,
a relatively large knife,
and a miscellaneous knife that doesn't fit any of the other categories.
I also designate 2 knives for kitchen duty each week.

I have 9 distinct weekly sets that allows me to carry every knife I own at least once every 9 weeks.

Kinda looking forward to using my set rotation, instead of spending like 30 minutes every Sunday trying to choose knives for the week! :o:rolleyes:

GT,

9 distinct sets! That is awesome. I wasn't sure where to fit my upcoming 77 medium barlow. I think I'll have to start a new set.

Tal

These two. Every day, every week, day in and day out. Been that way for some months now. All the knife I really ever need. I own many many more because I like them.

I just pick whichever one I want to use that day. Sometimes, the one I pick stays in my pocket for a few days or weeks. I like to keep my rotation casual. I have others that I switch in also. I guess this is my summer picks. In winter, I tend to carry large stockman or trappers along with one of these.

Case Seahorse whittler
Case Carhartt Peanut
Case vintage Barehead jack
GEC 38 in stag (my precious)
Beer Scout

I recently finished refining my EDC rotation and here are the results.

Ken Coats Easy Open Jack
Case/Bose Norfolk
Mike Alsdorf Gunstock Interframe
Case Cattle knife from the Tested era
Remington R100A

I just grab whichever knife I'm in the mood for each day.

D.B.

I love every one of those knives, especially that Barehead Jack. Great selection. I really like the elegant curves on those whittlers.

Tal

That Case/Bose Norfolk is one of my grail knives, that and the Case/Bose modified Muskrat that I see around every once in awhile. That selection shows some pretty refined tastes, stunning.

I don't have a set rotation. I usually EDC three knives (not counting the blades on the two multi-tools I EDC) a Buck 110, Buck 301 Stockman, and a Marbles copy of the Camillus "Demo" knife.
The 110 has pretty much become a permanent carry, but it does get switched out once in a while for a new made Taylor-Schrade Old Timer 7OT.
The 301 gets swapped for a 371 Stockman or a 389 canoe, maybe once a month or so, for a week, give or take.
When I carry more than three, I'll add a Rough Rider large sunfish, in a second belt sheath. (A medium size Case sheath is a good fit for the sunfish.)

Thanks Tal, I appreciate it. I got that Barehead Jack in a trade from a good friend, and it's one of my favorites.

Wouldn't say I have a set rotation, rather something a little more flexible than that. At the moment for work I alternate between my trusty Vic Farmer and my newly acquired Remington scout knife. I like a decent sized spear-point blade and an awl at work. I also like an opener, in case I have to fall back on a tin of something during the day. If I take a smaller knife it's usually my beaten up Richards jack. Weekends I either carry my little equal end Turner pen or my bone-stag Case peanut, unless I'm fishing in which case I take the Farmer, not least for it's saw blade which can be useful for clearing the bank and sawing off small branches if I get hooked up etc.

I don't have a set schedule, it really depends on what I'm interested in that day. These are the most common, with an appearance by my not pictured Beer Scout.

That equal end Turner sure is purty. What vintage is it?

Yeah I do like this little knife. It has ivory scales and I picked it up at a car-boot sale in near perfect condition for one pound. The tang on the small blade reads 'Cutler to His Majesty the King', so it pre-dates our current monarch. I can only really make a rough guess and say it dates from sometime during the mid inter-war period. Appreciate the interest.

What's the model on the Rem Scout?

What's the model on the Rem Scout?

The Remington Scout/Camper has no model No. on it, but is from the 'Sportsman' range. The knife is produced in China and is surprisingly good quality for not a lot of money.

Pictured here with another knife which sometimes enters my rotation - The Victorinox German Army Knife.
