Show Us Your Daggers

everyone likes to post daggers with guns=P

Hmmmm... it is true, nowdays daggers are generally thought of as weapons rather than tools. The whole cloak and dagger thing.

However a little digging around in history finds they were often used as general tool knives as well. If you think about it, back when steel didn't have the edge holding capability it does today, a double edge could be very handy. When one side dulled, just flip it over for a fresh edge without having to stop for sharpening.

The double edge also has it's drawbacks; you can't baton, push on the spine, or in most cases even place a thumb on the spine for control.

I don't foresee a huge resurgence of the dagger as a general camp knife/bushcrafter. :D

Come on now.... there has to be lots more nice daggers out there. I've seen a few posts in the past with some spectacular art work daggers.

How does that little sucker hold up? The knife, I mean. ;)

It is tough as nails (as you would expect a solid piece of 1050 steel to be) and one of my most carried knives (in spite of the crappy sheath).

Get yourself one. For the price, you won't be disappointed.

Here's a Jerry Corbit auto, a Peter Bauchop Witch, and a coupla Microtechs.

Beautiful daggers guys. I love daggers with guns, both mean all business.

These are the two that sleep next to me(not my wife's side). That is a 44 mg with a 5" bbl. My only dagger, spear point fighter it's over 1/4" thick. Ready to go in the middle of the night. James
