Show us your used and abused Emerson Collection! Would be nice if you could give a brief description (or story) on why you chose to get that knife, how you like it and all that good stuff! Remember to post as many pics as possible! Emersons Knives just tickle my fancy....in the good way!
I'll go first!
Here are my 4. I gifted my girlfriend a 14 but sold it because she wanted something a little bigger. I plan on getting matching Commanders for the both of us. A regular sized for me and a mini or micro commander for her.
The Horseman was the first one I've ever gotten for myself and received it in a trade. I used this thing to the max and only the coating on the tip has given out a little bit. Lock failed and cut me at one point but its fixed now. I have big hands and it for some reason it fits it well. Kinda odd, I could go for the regular 8 though. Lock up is tight with minimal up and down play. As you can see the handles are not grippy but smooth. I received the knife that way but they were not sanded down all the way. It seemed to have been spray painted a khaki color then sanded off but I finished it off and looks pretty good. Its on the thin side though.
This one is a Benchmade/Emerson collaboration when Ernie still hasn't begin making his knives. Benchmade 975 or the Emerson Super 7 variant. This one has easily become one my top folders! Also the first knife in my entire collection that has a Chisel Grind. I wasn't too fond of it at first but man this thing cuts like a laser! It comes bead-blasted with blacked out hardware which I immediately changed. Gave it a 2-tone finish and mirror polished the hardware. After wards i ended up giving it a full Satin finish which was a pain but came out looking good. Gave it a Blue CF clip and it just fits so good. I carry this one almost everyday! Never gonna get rid of this one!
Next up, the ROADHOUSE!
This is one is a bad Mofo! I got a great deal on it and really really like it! I dont carry it as much because of its looks. It's aggressive lol. This one was just am impulse buy and do not regret it one bit. I I wouldn't mind trading this one off though but for now I'm just looking to increase my Emerson collection instead of reducing it lol. This one could use a .45 thumbdisc. Polished up the pivot on this one. I really think that all Emersons should come with Satin Hardware to correspond with the blade but that's just me
Last one I bought and love very much is the Emerson Journeyman. I dont understand why this is such an underrated knife! I believe it has one of the most EDC'able blade shapes out of all of them! Ergo's are phenomenal! I upgraded the hardware with some Ti and gave it a Sterling Silver Thumbdisk. It doesnt have the wolf emblem clip on right now but it will soon! I can't imagine getting rid of this one at all! A Super Journeyman (Superman) would be amazing! This should be on everybodies top list to get!
Some more pics to hold ya'll over!
Hope yall enjoy the pics! Looking foward to seeing everybody elses collections!
