Show Us Your Survival Kits

I'm digging the maxped kit, ESEERAT'. Do you have any pics of it on it's side to see how thick it is? I've been thinking about doing something similarly-sized using a spec-ops brand pocket organizer kind of like that. Thanks.

Sorry don't have any side pics, but I'd guess it's about 1 1/2" thick. I figure as soon as it won't zip closed, I've put too much in it! :D

Hahaha right on, man. Thanks anyways. Hopefully I'll get around to putting mine together soon.

What is the box you have there? Some sort of fly box it looks like, but which one? And what are the measurements?

Flambeau has those boxes and about a million more. My favorite is the Streamside Fly Box, Model number 3035. You can find it under FLY FISHING on the left. It holds a lot and fits in a cargo pocket easily. They are made from a VERY tough plastic and not the cheap hard brittle crap at all. Plus they have a real hinge and not some bent plastic to fatigue and break.

But after looking at the Blue Ribbon waterproof boxes they have, I think I am going to get a few and see what they're like.

Also, if you want to remove the foam like I did, use Zippo lighter fluid. It removes the glue and doesn't hurt the plastic one bit. You will have ZERO residue or stickiness on your plastic.

I have two of these boxes, and I carry them in my ruck. When I put my ruck on I take these out and put them in my cargo pockets so I will always have them on me even if I leave or lose my ruck. I put the ruck away and these go right back in it so they are always there.

I keep a full kit in my Jeep, and a small kit in my day bag. This is the Mini-Kit that's my EDC:

Graham Stubby Razel, Nanostriker, LED Light, Suunto Clip compass.

What you don't see: wrapped around the sheath (under the inner tube) is about 30 feet of fishing line, some hooks, sinkers, safety pins and a large sewing needle. I also carry a Leatherman Wave or Juice (xe6 or kf4) with me, and a stormproof lighter since I'm a smoker. In my wallet there's about 10 feet of duct tape flat folded and a fresnel lens. On my keychain there's a Vic Classic, Gerber Artifact and about 10 feet of paracord braided to save space.
