Alas, in both the "nature" and the "nuture" portion of the nature vs. nurture debate, it's been found that those born in France or having grown up in France aren't genetically predisposed to having a spine. It seems that at some point, a spine became an evolutionary liability... :p

This is my BM-E after it was used to hack up tar shingles. I cleaned and sharpened it, but she's still a little scuffed up. Shingles are like manmade stingray skin.
