Boo-Boo gimmie dat pic-i-nic basket
Brought my Opinel no. 8 specifically for slicing cheeses and meat to make mini-sandwiches with my girlfriend today, wonderful time. We had three Spanish cheese samplings and some special fancy British cheddar with summer sausage in between crackers, Italian soda, and apples, with Blood Orange dark chocolate from the Ghiradhelli factory in SF! The no.8 makes me feel traditional and it's honestly a great knife, reminds me of why I love Opinel whenever I carry one. Same cutting area as a PM2 for 1/10 price, and half the weight, and no cutting slouch, ha. Not knocking PM2 as I have three, and these ain't as fancy, but workable, and I'll never scoff at an Opinel, and will buy, love and support them for life. Need a no. 13 just to have a bigger folding knife than my Espada XL and for the BBQ.

Of course I keep the Yojumbo because I'm not stupid and I lost my OC spray in a parking lot and need more, useful blade shape too! And, just look how cool that looks... Did not buy for aesthetic, just happens to be cool. First all black "murdered out" lol, Spydie, I think. Even the black hardware copper REX 45 PM2 excusive I have has a shiny comp lock tab, not this one. Clean. I hear wharncliffes prove useful in utility, too.

Brought the OT as my pocket-whittler cause law's weird about fixed blades here. It's a four bladed congress-peanut. I love yellow Delrin. Loving my Wingman that I won in the BF giveaway! It's the best multitool I could ask for! Does anyone know what the little cut outs in all the tools are for?

I do not understand cutting up cardboard like this - why not crush the boxes? Do you just want to use your knife? I get that if you do, that is a valid reason, wanting some slicey dicey action, but other than that, I don't get it.
I’ll be honest I’ve never understood the fascination of slicing cardboard. Rip the tape on the bottom, breakdown the box, move on.
30 years in the trades and bar / retail business and I think I’ve come across a dozen boxes that had to be cut down and for those I used…a box cutter.
Small sample size I know so perhaps other fields have the need. I suspect however it’s just an excuse to use a knife.

Some places have the smaller, garbage can size recycling bins that cannot accommodate even a crushed medium size box without partially filling the bin. Thus boxes are required to be cut. Last apartment I rented had a PITA recycling company. Could not flatten and nest boxes. Had to be broken down and placed individually in the garbage can size bin. Even if not required, it is a reason to use a knife.

Even if broken down and stacked, the boxes that kitchen cabinets come in are a pain to deal with in a small house. They're much more manageable when cut up and stacked/bundled. Especially when you have to load them in a vehicle to get rid of them.

Auto body parts are the same. The box that a SUV replacement roof or the uniside of a car comes in isn't small.

That makes sense, I was thinking of like, a dumpster. And, your apt has a recycling company? We literally have three dumpsters, no separation, and I have NOT been feeling good about all the cardboard I toss. Anything that gets recycled is because I take it to the center, and I may have to start doing that with the cardboard cause my place is just irresponsible and won't.

Also, you just must remember - there is absolutely NO BOX FLATTENING outside of the BOX FLATTENING AREA. 😁
I caught a member of this forum flattening boxes outside of the box flattening area - he got written up, went right on my list!

We must separate all cardboard in our city. We have trash and cardboard compactors in my facility, and my staff gets to deal with this every morning because none of my tenants have the smart crew member in charge of the trash / recycling…

Jeebus Crispy!
That's a whole lot to clean up just cause folks can't be bothered to use a provided compactor.

Had a company to pickup recycles. However, they placed so many restrictions everything became trash. When a person tried to recycle it was more of a pain than it was worth. Everything was required to be washed/rinsed out, no box nesting and the list continued. A couple months ago the managers had the bins removed. It was a hassle for them since they received all the complaints from the recycler. The city maintains a recycling center with a lot less restrictions. Slam-a-cow, mane, that sucks. That seems like exactly what I'm gonna be doing - city recycling center with my cans and bottles.
Also, American Schrade and Buck? Yessir, looking fine, I can't wait to try a non-Case USA slippie!

We have to fit it all into a small bin that only gets picked up once every two weeks. I have 4 or 5 razor knives but what fun is that!
