Show your ALICE pack love.

The Marine Coprs newest pack is ALICE dressed in 500D coyote cordura and PALS instead of sewn in pouches.

Sorry that everyone seems intent on hijacking your thread, I'll try and find more pictures.

Not only using it on many military marches (I got out 30 years ago), but my wife and I have climbed about a dozen of Colorado's 14'ers (peaks above 14K ft). I have used my ALICE on about half of them, and on 2 of them with my ALICE, I was in my 50's. We have a couple we're going to try to hit in August if we can get all our work around the house done.... I need it hiking up the mountains as it carries a heavy load very well, and I'm carrying water for my wife and I. She has shoulder injuries and can't pack much in.

It's served me very well over the years, I hope you enjoy yours as well.

And if you don't "love" the alice pack you can just leave the thread or stay and try to hijack and piss all over someone else's thread like a troll. Welcome to my ignore list.

Then don't buy one.

Ahhhhh, I see. It's only opinions in agreement that matter and are worthy of positing.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Yes, you should ignore me, as I'm sure in the future I'll again post an informed and experienced opinion that doesn't agree with another.

I got one for you, do you know why there are so many surplus Alice paks?

because any soldier that carried one for any length of time couldn't wait to turn it back in.

If you like them and they fit, more power to you, you are in the minority, but lucky to have a huge supply of cheap packs.
Rock on.

There are scout snipers, recon, and MARSOC guys who still use ALICE.

I would NEVER recommend ALICE for recreational use unless you were on an extreme budget or training for something like the Bataan.

I mounted my Medium Alice and Blackhawk SOF Ruck Pack (Blackhawk's Large Alice) to a standard External backpacking frame. They are so much more comfortable now that they are on a frame that fits me with modern suspension. Rather liked the layout of my Alice packs, but not how they carried with the stock frame. On the Backpacking frame with modern suspension, they are rather comfortable, at least to me.

My Hybrid Alice pack has been out on 4 days and 3 nights this year and I'll be using it again for 3 days at the end of the month for the Scout 50 miler. The scouts are going out for 6 days (Monday to Saturday), I'll be helping with the last 3 days. Right now my Large Alice is mounted on the frame, for the scout trip, I may switch to my Medium Alice. The Large has room for my sleeping bag inside the pack, with the medium, I have to lash to sleeping bag to the frame under the pack.
