Let's have a thread with pictures of folding knives that have big and heavy enough blades to be easily opened only with inertia. Where you don't even have to touch the blade.
This A.G. Russel lockback fits the bill nicely:

I'm curious......get it back? From where? Cold Steel? Did it break, or is it out for sharpening? I ask because I just got one, and I really like it. Please advise sir. Thanks.
I have a friend who likes blades that are 4+ inches so I'm letting him try it out. And break? I already whacked on it enough for one lifetime, the little wiggle that was fixed by adjusting the pivot (I forgot to put blue loctite in there haha).

Still sharp, still locks up, and still voided warranty (I switched out the washers) (Air compressor+ teflon washer=)

How long have you had it? and did you do the half-open trick yet? That honestly took me a month, but after that, it was better than it was before (You got a tri-ad lock, you pay the tri-ad price)

With proper technique I can wrist flick just about any folder...just have to get the right snap/twist action;).

That is the problem with places that have laws against knives that can be inertia opened and thus place them in the gravity knife catagory. Almost any folder can be inertia opened if you hold the knife with the pivot facing the ground and give a hard semicircular wrist flick down.

That said this Super Roadhouse inertia opens no problem.

This HD7 does too. But that is cause the detent has worn down and there is virtually no hole for it on the blade.

Thanks for the reply. I got it about a month ago. It is a newer model with the CTS-XHP, and the DLC coating. It also has the upgraded PB washers at the pivot. The Tri-Ad lock was a little sticky at first, but it has smoothed out nicely, and locks up hard, and tight with no play anywhere. It basically hasn't left my pocket since arrival, and is easily one of my favorite knives.

I use mine as a garden knife, it is so good with gloves, but let's be honest, it's so much more fun to pop it down before you kill some young trees/weeds

Both of these ring lock knives flick open. The Okapi whips open right out of the box but the Cold Steel needs to get worn in for a while before it starts opening. (Eland not pictured.) A new Tuff Lite will open with a flick of the wrist although it’s a smaller knife.

Edit: nevermind
It was on one of the boards where I heard about a technique for gravity opening. Twist your wrist like you're turning a door knob. Works well on my Cold Steel Voyager XL.
