This summer I'll have:
key load and Spydercard
(going to be on a military base for 7 weeks as camp staff)

Damn Tom, how do you get all that in your pockets? You keep all that stuff with you just in case you get a sudden urge to make a knife.

Neo Vizio, how you doing Dennis?

Generally I have the following about my person:

Small plain Sebenza or Socom Elite depending on dress

AlMar Cash Clip with around $50.00 in it.

Wallet with ID, Medical Insurance Card, Wife's contact info, 3 credit cards (Amex, Visa & Discover, you never know whose network will be down when you need to use one in an emergency) and business cards. I never carry my Social Sec card as that makes identity theft just too easy in the unlucky event that I become seperated from my wallet.

Motorola Timeport tri mode cell phone

Sony Clie 760 Palm based PDA in custom leather Vaja case w 64 or 128 mb Memory Stick full of MP3s (it's a real computer in your pocket!)

Photon 3 on keyring

(Occasionaly) SureFire E2 hard anno

Omega Seamaster Pro Chronometer

Serengetti Vermillion Lense wrap around sunglasses

A pen of some sort, usually with a logo on it (I get a lot of semi nice pens from factories my company represents)

That's when I'm just walking around. If you look in my breifcase when I'm on business or traveling you might find the following:

Mac G3 400 mhz laptop w/ 256 mb ram in a Tumi bag.

All the cables needed to hook the computer up to a lan, dial up in a hotel room, big screen for a sales presentation etc...

Nikon Coolpix 775 digicam w/ 128mb flash card

Bausch & Lomb 8X25 mini binocs

Calculator

More business cards and pens & a Sharpie

Targus micro USB mouse & 3M Precise Mousing Surface (very thin mouse pad)

Keyspan Digital infrared usb remote control for DVD playback or Powerpoint presentations.

Leatherman Wave (after leaving airport or if driving)

Small screwdriver set

Small travel pharmacy including; asprin, toothpicks, floss, Pepcid, Imodium tablets, Tylenol Cold and Flu pills, a couple Vicodin, Eye drops, small bottle of Purell hand sanitizer, etc.

A couple pair of disposable foam earplugs (great for long plane rides or loud hotels)

A couple glow sticks (small cold chemical lights for emergency use)

Mini Mag w/ spare batteries

Headphones for use with Clie PDA for music or laptop for movies when on airplanes

some Beef Jerky & a couple day's worth of multi vitamins

a lightweight compass

When traveling, a bottle of water

a few CDs and DVDs for demonstration (or killing time watching movies on planes or in hotel rooms)

The breifcase weighs in at 21 lbs per the bathroom scale without the bottle of water. I have been thinking of adding a small straw type disposable water purification filter as they don't take up much space but haven't done it yet.

Call me a bit of a boyscout, but I like to be prepared.

jmx

PS If CCWs were reasonably available in CA I'd probably be carrying a bit more stuff.

...and a Spyderco flag 'Q'...

I guess I pack 'light'...lol

Wanna see it? The 'Q' that is... ;)

Mel

Mel, here i am sitting at the tube post workout and with a nice warm three-beer glow, thinking "somoene oughta post about the right hand pocket being cut out of their jeans, maybe I oughta....." and then I see you here grinning ear to ear about beating me to it!

Daily, hmmmm.

Sebenza (again) Now classic full size, standard small and as soon as it gets back from Mad Dog my beloved standard full-size with the black nitride handles, the false-edged blade and ten months of everyday carry on it, soon to be in my loving hands again.

Spyderco Copilot fully serrated with the ivory handle laser engraved w/ a black widow, from AG Russell circa 1995. Has carried with me 99 out of 100 days ever since November 1995. It carries whatever cash I may need plus reserve.

Wallet, very cheap leather, from outlet store, "tan", maybe 11 bucks total, the usual wallet stuff, and it has zippo cash in it. It does have roughly 847 business cards in it, mine and other people's, making it roughly five times as thick and buly as required. It resides in my hip pocket and on any given day looks soggy and and in serious need of replacement. Would like to replace it with Swiss Army traveler or weekend sized wallet.

Watch is an $80 swiss army (Victorinox) Renegade on some sort of Australian surfer's band "waterbourne" that takes the tension away from the pins and puts it on the band. I keep yankning the pins out of the Officer's two-tone, so I have decided to instead just save the funds for a GMT and be done with it. That's a lot of non-knife money just to tell what time it is, but I will be damned if I can break it. Until then I will suffice with a cheap watch and if it breaks, will put the surfer band on my G-Shok.

Keys for office, house and a green princeton-tech button LED, with a short loop of green parcord on it, makes it easy to grab. Princeton-Tec is an easier carry than the photon and carries same warranty for half the price locally. It is also the size of a quarter with a pimple on it, I to not even notice it there.

Key for Pathfinder on cheap-ass piece of wire attaching it to the remote. It came this way from the dealer. You can see how motivated I have been in switching this since March 1. I may replace the wire someday.

I also tend to have with me in the briefcase the Nokia phone, a pair of Armani sunglasses, a Mad Dog or Strider fixed blade, boy-scout sized SAK, business calc, at least three non-functioning pens, a highlighter and three or four paperclips as well as a legal pad and four file folders I do not need. I also carry about 100 business cards in here, and in the case they do not get sweaty/ greasy/ gross.

On a day where I will travel into a higher risk venue, I will move the MD or Strider to easy access IWB carry and insert a bigger MD into the case. Amazing how we can be negotiating for my wallet one minute and your gun/ hand/ arm the next! I wish I could carry a Panther everyday, but it really is to hot here and the IL socio-political climate is too hot for such an animal to be let visibly out of its cage daily.
