You guys suck. I don't even have an EDC right now. :(

Seriously though, awesome blades. Some of those look like railroad spikes. ;)

Sorry, no help here, the only thing I've got over .250 is a FBM LE.

I feel so inadequate  (or banned smiley).

My current EDC's are .250, .250, .200, .150, .140. (BM-E, SJ, HD, LrMrS, GW)

No help here either. EDC's are all thin slicers.

Could somebody inform this jr piglet what the criteria is for a blade to be considered a "fatty". Does it differ if knife is a EDC or a chopper?

"If swung, would it knock out a burgler?" seems to be the general rule of thumb. :D

That made me laugh but I was hopeing for a more scientific approch. There is a lot of things that if swung correctly would lay someone out but may still not qualify as a fatty.

James, I think that it depends on the model. That said, someone will be along shortly to tell me I'm wrong and give you some measurement guidelines. :D

Thanks. I'm sure somebody will be along shortly with something. After I posted I was thinking I should have worded it better. I was half expecting some comment about what one could swing and still not be a fatty.

is there a rule?

id say for edc types, anthing over .220 is fat.

for the med to large, anything over .250 is fat.

maybe husky is a better word? thick? wide load?

If the first words that come to mind when viewing a knife is...MAN, THAT KNIFE IS FAT!!!...I'd say it constitutes being a fatty. These posts we see here in this thread are perfect examples, Though perhaps for most (including myself) outside of the EDC realm, the latest standard Busse offering to fall into the fatty realm has been the BATAC LE...it is one FAT slab of INFI glory to behold...perhaps there is a need for a non-edc fatty thread??

Let's keep em' coming...I am thoroughly enjoying these pics, in fact...I'm going to pour myself some single-malt, sit back, and revel in the madness!!
