My First

1.jpg

Stainless blade, Cultured marble scales, Applied decoration, Oiled American walnut stand.

Oh, ok. Here's my first.

There was no grind other than the edge. It was just a piece of saw blade steel and some bacote.

Here's one of my latest(non-damascus).

This is more like it. Multi-edge quenched 1084 with maple burl and home-made mosaic pin.

Hey, Bob where have you been hiding??? When are you going to come down and pay me a visit?? We can do up some damascus.:D :D

Almost all of mine are here...

My Handmade Knives

The knife #1 was my first knife, the Nessmuk is my latest. I started making knives about 9 or 10 months ago. Mostly hand tools, files, sandpaper, patience.

Damn Bob! I'd be tickled with either of those. Glad to see you back, look forward to dinner and B.S.ing again soon.

Good to "see" you guys again.....as soon the as business and family crapola goes away , I may be able to make a knife or two.

Right now, I'm getting ready to leave for Ashokan. My most important deadline of the year is due today, so I think its appropriate that I bug out of here. Looking foward to seeing Rene & Jim........and hope to do or at least go to Marlboro in November....

J. - pick out a place & I'll bring the B.S.

Take care all, Bob

Here's mine. I built it for my wife, and is based on a medieval knife (not the bolsters, though, which I added to the original design).

normal_Coltello%201.JPG

The bolsters are nickel silver, the scales snakewood and the blade is forged from C70 (analogous to 1075, with differential heat treat (torch-tempering of the spine)

Ok, you guys asked for it, lmao!
I made this one as a joke just to get some laughs from my friend that owns a pawn shop I visit alot. It's more like the bar in Cheers to me. I go there and spend time standin around bsin with the owner and customers and such. I was floored when the guy bought the thing!
Nowadays I wish he'd sell it back to me, lol!
The blade came from an old butcher knife and the liners are 1/8" aluminum. The scales are 3/4" walnut and the bolsters are 3/8" aluminum. The thing is about 10" closed and 17 or 18" open.
I still get a kick out of it when I visit the pawn shop and look at it!
