Show your modified BK10

Inspired by this thread, I took my spare BK10 out to the shop last week and ground down the spine to a drop point. I left the spine as ground for fire steel scraping. Also made a Kydex sheath to fit the new shape. The original edge shape is factory. I only worked the spine down. Suits me better now as I like the slimmer point :)
 
You didn't tell me you had a spare. :eek:
Now I need one. :D
 
That looks cool, dropped with the ramp still on. :thumbup:
 
Was curious as to what it would look like with the upper ramp ground off, so I GIMPed it. Kinda cool, but the whole ramp looks better me thinks:

Yeah I kinda dig the wider look with the factory ramp. Gets too BK2ish if it is removed. Not that that would be bad, just not my preference.
 
That's pretty much the look how I wanted to grind mine. I wasnt sure about taking that much off, but that looks real good

Bill, did you use another knife as a template for that spine shape?... Like a Esee 6 or something?

No template. Just eyeballed it and hit the grinder:)

I knocked out the upper notch of the ramp on my GIMPed version.

I know.... was just a bigger pic and looked more like my rampless 10

Gimp off the whole thumb ramp, flat, and post a picture ! :cool:
 
I was of the age that i didn't get labeled with "short attention span" or ADD. They hadn't started calling kids that yet. I should read closer. ...... squirrel
