I know Tom Krein doesn't do regrinds anymore, but there has got to be others out there doing quality regrinds!

I would like to see them!

Here are some from Tom, once upon a time ago. I no longer have any myself, but mine here were the BM-42, Spyderco Jess Horn, and the CQC-12. I too am interested in who else is doing them now-a-days.

This is a Benchmade 635 mini-skirmish with the recurve ground straight & flat ground by TK.This is the last regrind I have left from Tom.It's in my pocket more than any other knife I own.

I love the look of Krein regrinds. So it's basically a zero-edge that you sharpen with a strop? How are they to maintain?

Edges that thin are a breeze to maintain, and yes you can sharpen them on a strop in seconds.

I have a few :) All of my regrinds were rehardened as well. I figure, once the knife has to leave my home, I might as well do the full package.

Kershaw shallot CPM S110V, rehardened by Phil Wilson, 64HRC, regrind by Tom Krein, polishing by Richard J.

Benchmade Nimravus 154CM steel, rehardened by Phil Wilson, 62HRC, reground by Phil Wilson. insane improvement in cutting ability and edge holding...

Benchmade 710 HSSR, rehardened by Phil Wilson, 64HRC, regrind by Tom Krein.

In each case edge holding increase was huge, and so was the increase in cutting ability, both regrinds and because of the ability to sustain much thinner edges... 10-12 per side.

Sorry but I cannot do pics [ too much hassle for me ] but I took a 'few' blades to the Grind In at BarkRiver and Jim Stewart did an AMAZING job.

As did Skittles and Dan for a few more of my blades.

They are as sharp as a piece of steel can possibly be.

hate to break the news to you, but Tom told me he was going to start doing regrinds again in October,:D

Zero edges...are they technically not scandis? Therefore it would not be incorrect to say Krein regrinds are scandis too, yes? I'm just trying to understand. As far as I know an edge taken to zero is just a V without a secondary bevel on the edge. Or am I missing something? The only exception is a convex to zero grind which is obviously not a scandi nor a V.

They aren't zero edges, they do have a small bevel on them usually, just hard to see from the photos.
