I have a lot of edc users, but I've been through hell with this bk17 and it's never failed me.

Show your knife that you grab for things you wouldnt dare do with another but it just keeps on performing . You know shop knives , knife in your tool box , you just plain sharpen and go , improvised handle and the like .

I had certain needs for a tool at work. Then I learned what a razel is. Then I got the hots for a knife I could hammer through a nail just because . . . well . . . Buck's logo is that but I wasn't about to try it with my nice old classic '80s 110.
So
I ask around and started looking at all kinds of knives and steel alloys and this is what I finally came down on :
Cold Steel Ti Lite VI (the big two fisted zarker).
CTS-XHP this steel will easily shave curls off mild steel parts with no damage if the angle is right.
I was using it today for taking burs off metal parts.
I'm happy with it. It works just the way I hoped it would. A knife and a push chisel all in one. I don't hammer on it much and when I do it is just on the spine of the blade; I never hammer on the handle to drive it.

Some before and after photos.
(PS : anyone trying one of these for the use described above . . . use extreme caution; think where those edges are going to end up if you slip off the work; very dangerous until you get used to using push chisels .)

I have a few beaters in various locations......car, work truck & tool bag, but these 2 have been truly beaten & just keep coming back for more!!
The Guardian is in 3v......don't doubt anything you hear about 3v!! It is amazing!! I recently removed a ton of flex duct that was held in place by HUGE zip ties. The flex fits over heavy tin collars. I slid the knife under the ties and twisted it to break them. It sliced paper after doing that quite a few times!! Great steel on a great knife!!
The Pac Salt is nothing short of a pocket chain saw!!!
