I've been down the bottom paddock most of the day cutting firewood and brought along some of my favorite knives. thought I might get a pig while down there as I usually see a couple, but they've bee baiting with 1080 poison around the area and seemed to have quietened them down.

Anyway, apart from old aching bones complaining about cutting wood, I'm still not too old to enjoy my knives.

A .22 ,magnum, usually my go to rifle around here.

I used to have that same Snakeskin SteelHeart and Winchester 94/22M (the timber on your 94/22 is prettier by far than what I had I on mine). That Winchester was one of the smoothest lever actions I ever felt! Hopefully you'll get a chance at the piggies again, but it sounds like they are plentiful enough that not seeing them can be a good thing too.

That's the second Winchester 94/22M I've owned over the years and from memory my first one had plain timber as well, maybe Winchester had two different grades in the 94/22's.

I grumble and moan about cutting and splitting firewood, but it probably helps keep the old heart pumping.
