Well its time for pounding some steel and exchanging tips and stories. Will be a 2 day event that starts at 10:00 sat. morning or earlier. Will be serving Brisket and trimmings. We will be firing up the forge and using a power hammer, press and manual hammer. Topic of discussions will be grinding methods, construction, heat treat, handles and guards, Damascus making and etching etc. All are welcome. My address is 4887 Dixie Garden Loop, Shreveport La 71105, My phone # is 318-865-8166

Plenty of space for parking and can call for directions. Come one come all!

Yes I will be there, if anyone needs a place to hang their hat on Saturday evening give me a shout. Darrin I have a space reserved for you, just bring me some boudin and I will settle with you. Looking forward to another great time and fellowship!

I'm glad to hear this Dan, so count me in. Thanks Johnny I enjoyed talking with you and Rusty last year til 03:00 in the morning about as much as the hammer-in. To the folks who are close enough to make the drive but haven't done so you're missing out. Even if you're not a maker you'll still have a blast. All you really need is a love for knives. I made some great new friends last year and I look forward to seeing them again this year. My hats off to you Dan, really appreciate you putting up with us for a couple of days.

WOW i dont forge but i do stock removal and Im gonna make it a point to go this year! Guess Ill grab a hotel room since it is a 3+ hr drive but sounds like fun!!!

Hey William I am strictly stock removal also. I promise you'll have a blast and meet some good people. Drop Johnny a line about a place to stay. I stayed with him last year and will again this year. Johnny is a great guy and a gracious host. Look forward to meeting you there.

Hammer Inns are not just for folks who forge but FOR all. Collectors, stock removal, even folks who just make kit knives. If you have a love for knives then this is for you. As I have said, ALL ARE WELCOME.

Well I do plan on doing forging down the road but want to work on some different grinding skills first. I can do really nice convex, flat grinds and even recurves but for the life of me I cant get hollow grinds for some reason. Everyone tells me they should be easy but just cant get them. Need to practice more I guess.

Well I have very little money. So how much for the hammer in and what would one need to have for lodging. It's 3 hours but I really want to meet everyone. I have a forge but no yank to bring if it would help.

It was supposed to be tank. Editing didn't help. But I am from Texas and I don't have any yanks. Sorry about that northerners and folks from Dallas.
Dan

Hammer inn is free and Johnny warner is helping folks with a place to stay. E-mail him he is in this thread. Come on down (or up, sideways).

I missed it last year but will be there this year! This will be my first hammer in and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!
Jason

Hope everyone has housing worked out. Johnny has more room and I have a inflatable mattress so still room. Going to be a lot of fun.
