Having another Hammer Inn and all invited. It is at my house and I have a nice big shop and overhang where my power hammer, forge and press are and they will all be running. We like newbies, pros, collectors and just folks who enjoy knives. It is a Saturday and Sunday event and we will have some form of BBQ on Sat. with leftovers on Sunday. There will be forging demo's and Damascus making (powder can method and laminated billets) with discussions on construction methods, clips on blades, discussion on mosaic damascus, Mokume, grinding and heat treating. Come one and all and do some hammering.
My address is
4887 Dixie Garden Loop
Shreveport, LA 71105
318-865-8166

There will be 4 anvils and forges so all can get in the fun. Schedule is for demos but other things will also be going on.

We have some great folks doing Demo's this year and especially forging knives to shape. Look forward to seeing you Charlie.

I'll be there. I am getting a demo grinder that is new to the market and if it arrives in time I will have it set up for everyone to try.

Don't rain too much between here and there I'm gonna come up Dan. (Lafayette)
Darrin told me it's big fun.

There's a Hampton on Millicent Way at Bert Kouns. That's about 5-10 minutes from the Hammer In.

Dang it!! I'm out of the country till the 26th! I always miss the good stuff! (sigh) maybe next year...

Shaping up to be a good one this year. Looking forward to seeing old and making new friends, and of course pounding hot steel. have a new forge this year for a total of 4 and there will be more there so should be enough for all.

Dan, I really appreciate you hosting these, I was gonna suck it up and come this time, but we have a show that weekend. Hope all have fun!

Best-Don

Here are some links to some hotels in the area. I live close to the river and Bossier hotels are close and only one that is reasonable on Shreveport side. If you look on a map I am close to the Jimmie Davis Bridge on 70th street. My address is 4887 Dixie Garden Loop Shreveport La 71105

Here is a link to hotels in Bossier. Close ones. Just hop over bridge. Just depends on your price range.

Here is one in Shreveport that is close. I think you would like this one. Look at a map and you can see it is really close.

I'm on call this weekend. If I would have seen this earlier I would have tried to trade someone. I'll see if I can pull any strings.

Here are some pictures of the hammer Inn. I want to thank all who came and especially those that helped. What a success. Now pics.

I wish that I would have been in town for this. I live less than 10 minutes from your place. Buddies and I are trying to get into making knives and blacksmithing so this would have been extremely helpful.
