Does anyone have any experience with Ron La Clair's Shrew Hawk as seen at www.shrewbows.com? It looks like one I might want at a good price.

I ordered one a few weeks ago. I sent it back though. It was definetly a well made hawk. But being hand made, the one that I got did not match the profile of the one on Ron's website. I've been using hawks for a long time and when I saw that shrewhawk it looked like a very good design. The one that they sent had a straighter bit and a much longer pointy beard. This could have been reprofiled but I didn't know how far back into the bit the smith ran his hi-carb, so I didn't want to take a chance on losing the temper.
Also the handle is very thin for the weight of the head. It could be wrapped to make it thicker but that would not be my preference.
