SHSH, Mulder Grade

Yup, for about two years the SHSH was my "Go To" blade just did more work more comfortably.

Then I got my First user one of three hundred.

Still I like a SHSH better than all that came after the E-Models, So Far.

That's a darned good report there OP! I'll try to add some more use bordering on abuse to test this blade. I'm watching the mailbox!!

Great review and pics Jamie:thumbup:

Do you feel the straight handle is what made it better for the finer cuts in the kitchen?

I've always felt you have more control when slicing/cutting with a SH, no matter the size of the knife.

Great review. Looking forward to the next installment of the tour.

Since I have two SHBM, I never really wanted, or could justify the cost of, an SHSH. But a user Heavy heart, now that's an itch I need to scratch.

Great review, Old Pigsics, and great pics! I wish I could take pics like that. And I wish I had an SHSH... :D Interesting comparison to the NMSFNO which I like so much.

That's a wonderful side-by-side comparison with the NMSFNO, OP. Thanks a million--very helpful review.

I think Ken is right. The nice, straight handle really does help with food prep.

I'm gonna miss the Precious. She's already boxed up and ready to hit the USPS. She will be missed.

Keep eyes open, mhawg! One of my lovely daughters will have the duty of sending her off properly, then messaging you with the usual information. It should go out on Monday (somewhat after I go out, myself).

Thanks again, Mulder! It was great fun.:D:thumbup:

GREAT review and PICs. I can tell from the tone of your writing you really love this knife and have great appreciation for it. More the reason they are as expensive as they are. IF they werent such great knives the prices wouldnt demand so. I hope yours gives you a lifetime of fantastic fun and use.

That SHSH has felt 'love' :D

Like you wouldn't believe!! Mulder has got to be even manlier than we realize ... ;)

Those old smoothcoats are tougher than we new Piglets realize. I doubt I left a single new mar on that smoothcoat. It will probably return to Mulder after a complete tour looking the same as when it left!

Interesting. I didn't really expect the SHSH2 to outperform the NMSFNO... I figured they would be about the same. Which was one of the main reasons the NMSFNO made me so happy... it was like an affordable SHSH2 that I could beat and not feel bad about it later.

So, OP, other than chopping ability, how else would you compare these two knives? Ergonomics, v-edge vs convex, etc?

Great review and pics OP.
I would like to take credit for all the love that the "Precious" has seen but that is not the case.
I am merely the current caretaker of "Precious" and one day she will be home with her "Rat" owner.
Good thing I have a few just like her in reserve. :D
