is this an original design?
found this selling

The pivot is different, the handles are different, the flipper is different... Not a clone, more like "inspired by". Happens all the time, yet somehow China is the only one damned for it. To me it looks like a harpoon blade with a rounded triangular thumb hole and a pretty uninspired handle.

Yeah, it's obviously an "homage" piece.

Well now you know.

Where did you find this clone?

no i don't, which one you think is exact copy? i feel like it is much more different from gavko than 0777 from matrix, for example, so legal for me enough, if there is no more closer original knife.

I am happy you feel that way.

If it justifies a purchase for you, then I am ecstatic.....

You're alone however on thinking that it's not a copy of a Mako.

doesn't make me not alone on that one for you?

and it justifies as i don't like the original shape and not going to buy mako anyway, no disrespect to great maker. just my taste.

No one mentioned China until you did. Seems a bit preemptive.

I don't think he gets it.

It's a total rip-off, I can't say it any nicer.....

Ya, some things are different because to make an "exact Mako" would be much more expensive and complicated.

I am not sure why you need justification to buy a clone, or someone to help convince you that it's not what it is?

This in NOT about China, it's about a blatant copy of someone else's design.

Yup

Mentioning China is a preemptive shot at getting the counterfeit argument started. Completely unnecessary.

It IS a rip off. All the design cues are there. Just not as well executed as on the original.

If you want to buy it, go for it. Just don't come on here to ask for some kind of confirmation that your "apple" in an "orange"
Buy it and go be happy with it. If I liked it I would contact Mike and ask him to build me one. And yep, I would have to wait, and it would cost significantly more.
