This year's SICAC (Paris knife show) was definitely better than one year ago. There were many good quality knives. I also had the chance to meet Jens Anso, which is a very fine guy (Jens, in case you are reading this, you know you can't take me serious ;))
I was as broke as always, but couldn't resist and bought two knives from Jens. One little necker for my wife (she choosed it) and a tiny  pocket folder called Amok for myself. You can see them in some pics below. I made lots of pics, most of them turned out bad (the light was not strong enough) but here is what I could salvage:

A photo of Jens and me. He asked me to sit down so he can look taller in the pic :)

I hope you enjoyed this small report.

Those two knives by Santino Ballestra and the fighter by Gert and Achim Wirtz really grabbed my attention. Thanks for posting all the pictures.

Thank you very much for the report and the excellent pictures. Since I have very little chance of ever getting to Europe your pictures gave me an great chance to dream

Great job Flava, thanks for the time and effort. That's a very cool fighter by
Gert & Achim Wirtz.

Sensory overload...

Heh. I liked the oval folders by Fabrizio Silvestrelli, and especially the lines and simplicity of the Jean-Pierre Martin. But really neat stuff all around.

Flava,

Many thanks for your efforts. I liked all of the knives, and many are refreshing in the differences from what is familiar to me here in the USA.

Thank you again. :) Keep it up!

that is a very nice overview

why did you black out the prices in the pictures? it would be interesting to know

Thank you all for the kind words.
Bandaidman, I took the prices out to avoid discussions like "why is he/she selling cheaper/more expencive than usual".

It is such a shame that the show organiser (for the 2nd year now) has chosen to use such a cheap and run-down hall. Last year it was poorly lit, no refreshments, no snacks, and cramped. What makes it worse for me is that it is completely! non-wheelchair useable (flights of stairs, no elevators, no toilets). The organiser tries to hide behind this lack of access by saying it is a historical building, but he cannot explain why Versailles, and the Louvre, are perfectly accessable. It's 2004, he needs to wake up!

GREAT job Flava! I really enjoyed the pics and very much appreciate the effort.

All the best,

Roger
