Thank you, Flava, for your work. Quite an offering of knives. Many of them believe in the 'more is better' rule of sales. Hopefully, that outcome may also be the case.

An apparent difference in styles from the USA shows. As it should be. :D

Nice showing!

Coop

That was a great showing of photographed knives! Are Ohtas' knives friction folders and are the scales mostly wood or brown dyed bone? Can't tell and thanks.

Thanks, Flava, very much appreciated. Great to see the knives AND the makers.

like Coop, I too noticed the amazing variety presented by the makers. I'm used to hearing about makers at US shows limiting the number of knives they have available, and I've always been curious about the rationale as I've never heard it explained in a way which makes sense to me. Obviously, one doesn't want to have too busy a table, but it seems practical to have more than a few knives, (unless your last name rhymes with Loerchner:D).

The one knife that jumped out at me was that Koji Hara bamboo knife.

Thanks for the report, Flava. I love getting these little glimpses of these Euro shows:thumbup:

Very nice pics, Flava and nice knives, but you expect that from a show like SICAC. How was the show in general? I ask because I was looking at the list of attendees for both SICAC and Gembloux and for the first time, Gembloux has more exhibitors this year. I seem to recall that SICAC had close to 150 tables in 2007, but this year, I only counted 109 on the last list I saw.

I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the show this year because it looks like a good show this year. Even Reverdy has quite a few knives on his table. I'm very pleased to see Michael Blum back in action with some cool knives. Do you have more pics of his table?
Any information on how sales went this year, because last years sales weren't good. At least not for the makers I talked to.

Thanks for the photos.

They are friction folders, mostly with wood. Well made and SHARP.

I don't have more pics, took more but they were bad (moved).
Regarding the sales, it was fast for some and slow for others.
I think the first 2-3 hours of the show the sales must have been better than last year.
