Have Lung Cooties (covid) since the 24th. Find myself just flicking a Byrd meadowlark open and closed, occasionally dropping it and I just don't care.

Anyone else mindlessly fidgeting while sick? What's your sick in bed knife?

Gonna be awkward if I get hospitalized, idea's of hospital friendly cutlery?

This sucks so bad, glade I'm vaccinated...

Hope you feel better.

Last summer I was hospitalized for 11 days for a few injuries I sustained. My mother came to visit and brought me 4 of my knives lol. I hid them in my little medicine bag.

I've had Covid at least twice, and possibly a third last month but I don't get tested. Despite being immunocompromised it's not been to bad. Then again maybe it's because I didn't get the shot.

Regardless, I always have at least one with me in the hospital to fidget with, I've been in and out of the hospital my whole life.

My knife case is next to my bed so I rotate even when home sick lol.

My first, and thankfully only, go 'round with the Rona was before the vaccine and it beat my ass hard enough that I didn't have the energy to fidget with anything. For long hospital stays, though, I usually bring my Spyderco Urban, as it's good for opening their cream cheese packets for bagels and usually flies under the radar.

Reminds me of that episode of the Office when Michael grilled his foot 🦶
It got my right foot too lol. I never watched the office. I tripped in my office, knocked over an electric radiator, slammed into some shelves and a file drawer, knocked myself unconscious, and landed on the radiator.

When you are stuck in a hospital bed, anything to fidget with is a must. A knife is nice in case the baddies try to kill you in your hospital bed and Batman isn't there to save you.

How long did it take to heal?
A few weeks, but I heal stupid fast. My family calls me the real Wolverine. Docs told me 3 weeks to take the staples out after my liver transplant, it was healed in a week.

The burns, the top three on my leg and the one on my foot (other leg) ripped open a week after I started walking again. That really sucked.

John_B John_B I hope you feel better soon. The first time I had it, about two years ago, I was down for a week. The second time, two days. I'll say a prayer for you.

I remember someone who had a small knife in the hospital. They called for a mental evaluation. When in the hospital last year, I skipped the knife. Best not to have them look too hard at me :)

I don't fidget with knives, but when sick, if it makes you feel better, go for it.

I just finished my quarantine yesterday. I spent a lot of time here on BF. :)

I did stop by my knives on the kitchen counter several times a day to handle them, etc. As tired as I was I didn’t to take them to my recliner and cut myself.

Word of warning lol. I was suffering from insomnia and watching TV in bed with the lights of Flipping a knife open and closed absent-mindedly. Being dark, knife was a little close, gave myself a nice cut on my chest.
