Side Effects of Codeine?

My pill splitter has a razor blade in it.

Exactly what dispensary did you get yours from KMN???

:D

I don't have one, nor have I ever used one. I'm going just by the pic zenheretic posted. I would however consider making my own device or modding one like yours to fit some Crucible steels. I don't think it'd be unreasonable or overkill to use CPM S110V or CPM M4 to split aspirin... Do you?;)

The pic Zen posted clearly has a razor blade on it. Look closer.

Codeine and the like make me really sick to my stomach.. Oh, they will constipate the hell out of you as well.. Seriously, be ware..

Pill splitter... are you serious?!? Need I remind you that your are posting this advice on BLADEforums?;) On top of that, it's got a plastic blade. Plastic... not even a lowly 440A steel!

Break out your best, thin slicer--my go-to laser is a Caly 3--rest it on top of the pill and give the spine a gentle but firm tap. Then pat yourself on the back because you've found another questionable, half-assed use for your knife.:)

good answer.............

I'm a pharmacist...

1- Get a pill cutter if you need to cut pills, knives don't work well at all. And ask your pharmacist before you cut it, many pills should not be cut. (T3 would be OK.)

2- Codeine has to be metabolized by a specific liver enzyme before it's converted to the active metabolite morphine. If you lacked this enzyme or were taking drugs to inhibit it, then you wouldn't receive a therapeutic effect from the drug. Conversely, some people are what we call 'hyper metabolizers', just meaning that you have a very active set of those enzymes and convert the drug very quickly, thus giving you a larger-than-anticipated effect. That's one possible reason.

Other important questions: do you have any large liver or kidney disorders/problems? Do you have any current or recent head injury? Have you had past intolerances to morphine, hydrocodone, oxycodone, etc?

Either way, T3 is hardly the only analgesic drug under the sun! Tell your dentist and hopefully he will prescribe something else. Those aren't really tolerable side effects you're describing.

I remember taking hydrocodone one time and felt completely normal. Drugs affect all people differently.

Yep, I once took 2400mg of Hydrocodone and then I felt loopy as JNieporte described. Aside from that, 600mg doesn't affect me very much.
