No "opinions please because I don't want it to devolve"... Conversation instantly devolves into mud flinging... Nice. To anyone who hasn't jumped onto the brand poo pooing train. Very much appreciated. Locking down the thread because I think I've clarified the situation enough. I'll re-open it if necessary after I get the knife back. Thanks for the participation and conversation.

I've asked BF to delete this thread since I'm confident CRK is stepping up to resolve this as they always do, with class and quality. Also, I opened it not to bash or get opinions, but rather to see if people knew something I didn't. But I think this thread has run it's course.

Thanks to those who participated, and extra thanks to CRK for continuing to be the top production and servicing company in the knife community. I apologize for my part in exacerbating any miscommunication/misunderstanding that may have occurred.

Ok, have to add one final update on this.
1. This whole post originated as a miscommunication, in that I took "blade play is acceptable in CF models" at face value, without the nuance with which it was intended. Blade play, it seems MAY develop in CF models after extended use, and a minute amount of it after such a long time is considered within tolerance by CRK. To me, this makes sense and is completely understandable. My mistake was in assuming the explanation referred to my specific knife which is nearly new. This is not the case.
2. Given my response, the team at CRK went WAY above and beyond to address the situation. I am more than impressed with the response. Never ideal to immediately have to send a knife back after just having it spa'd, but the response more than made up for the issue.
As such, I will continue to carry and support CRK. Perhaps even more so now, if that's possible.
